Case Study: Charity Donation Brings in New Customers
Predicament
A coffee store chain was asked to donate funds to a local charity fund raising event. Due to sheer demand, corporate policy allowed franchise owners to donate product, but not money. In addition to donating coffee, the store owner wanted to do something that would leave a more lasting impression with the event participants.

Solution
They decided to give away a Java Scoop'N Clip along with a cup of warm coffee, compliments of the store. The promotional products were printed with their logo and contact information to remind people of the company's support of the charity after the event was over. They knew that many of the event attendees were current customers, and the clever scoop would allow them to make coffee at home and the clip handle would seal the coffee bags tightly so as to ensure freshness. Attendees not familiar with the popular blend were getting a complimentary taste, and the Scoop'N Clip told them where they could purchase more.

Results
While the store was unable to quantify the exact sales dollars brought in by their participation in the charity event, they received very positive feedback from recipients of the giveaway and saw a noticeable increase of new customers coming into the store.
